About Us
Hailing from the picturesque North Coast of New South Wales, Australia, Airborne Blues Virus is a powerful blues outfit that has recently roared back to life after a decade-long hiatus. This revival has been nothing short of a blues-infused whirlwind, propelling them onto stages at some of the country’s most renowned music festivals, including the Byron Bay Bluesfest, Blues On Broadbeach and the Bellingen Blues Festival.
Airborne Blues Virus consists of four immensely talented musicians, each contributing their unique flair to create a blues experience like no other. At the helm, we have the virtuosic Jode Skennar, who wields his lead guitar with both precision and passion, while also lending his powerful vocals to the band’s soulful soundscapes. Joining him on the guitar is Izac Skennar, a true blues maestro in his own right, whose undeniable chemistry with Jode makes for electrifying, blues-infused harmonies.
Rounding out the rhythm section is the solid foundation provided by Owen Cassidy on bass guitar. His deep, groovy lines anchor the band’s melodies and set the stage for the hypnotic blues grooves that Airborne Blues Virus is known for. Trent Rogers, the heartbeat of the band, commands the drums with an intensity that adds an irresistible drive to their music.
